When Patch happened upon Next Door Cafe at 1174 North Lake Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Monday to meet someone, the cafe was closed with a note affixed to the door.
The note read, "Due to construction temporarily closed."
But the word "temporarily" needs clarification since a quick online search finds the restaurant's Yelp page says the cafe is closed and a look at Next Door Cafe's Facebook page shows the last post was June 19, when Next Door posted:
"Hi Everyone, Sad to say we have decided to close our doors; it has been a great pleasure serving you all and our community. And this was not an easy decision to make."
The cafe's website is also still up but makes no mention of closing.
Patch will attempt to contact Next Door Cafe to see if the current closure is, in fact, temporary.
