PCDA Hosts Its First-Ever Move-a-thon on April 11

The free family fun day offers adapted physical activities, food and a live DJ

Professional Child Development Associates (PCDA) is hosting its first ever Move-A-Thon on Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rose Bowl Brookside Park. The Move-a-thon is a free event where people of all ages and all abilities will come together to enjoy fun physical activities, good food and entertainment.

Each child will receive a Move-a-thon passport when entering the event and can collect a sticker for each activity they complete. Activities will include an obstacle course, running clinic, dance, martial arts, yoga, bounce houses, golf, Taiko drumming and more. There will also be a sensory tent onsite for kids who are in need of quiet time. In addition, families can listen to the sounds of a live DJ, watch demonstrations and performances on stage, and get lunch from one of the food trucks. Whole Foods will provide complimentary snacks and water.

“PCDA aims to create a free family fun day open to all abilities, encouraging those with developmental challenges to get active with their families and other children,” said Dr. Diane Cullinane, executive director of PCDA. “We are excited to partner with many local organizations offering a wide variety of physical activities, so each child will have the opportunity to do something he or she enjoys.”
