Thousands Flock to Take Pasadena Firefighters Exam
There were only about 10 open spots in the fire department.
The Pasadena Fire Department saw more than 4,000 people come to the Pasadena Convention Center on Monday to vie for about 10 open spots, according to a report in the Pasadena Star-News.
Spokeswoman Lisa Derderian told the Star-News, that the last open call for new recruits to the department was in 2009. The retirements of several long-term employees opened up the spots, she said.
