Thursday in Pasadena: Sip-tember and Julia Child, Live Music and Food Trucks, Outdoor Movie

Celebrate Julia Child's birthday and partake in Sip-tember; catch free live music and food trucks and more on Aug. 15.

1. The month-long Sip-tember cocktail bracket challenge kicks off Thursday in Pasadena so you can try the featured drinks and vote for your favorites. Some of Pasadena’s restaurants and bars will celebrate Pasadena’s own Julia Child with a city-wide cocktail party for the late gourmet guru. See more information here.

2. The weekly Pasadena Playhouse Block Party with food trucks, live music and more on El Molino between Colorado Blvd. and Green St. goes from 6-11 p.m. and this week’s food trucks are: Kogi BBQ, India Jones, Waffles de Liege and Rounds Burger. Music by MoNo featuring Asdru Sierra (Member of Ozomatli)

3. Levitt Pavilion Pasadena’s free concerts at Memorial Park (85 E. Holly St.) continue with gospel, bluegrass band New Found Road at 8 p.m.

4. Pasadena’s Movies in the Park is showing Frankenweenie at Villa-Parke Community Center (363 E. Villa St.) at 7:45 p.m.
