Traffic Alert: Rose Bowl Closure for Autism Speaks Walk Saturday

The 11th Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks is expected to attract 35,000-40,000 participants to the Rose Bowl.

Tens of thousands are expected to gather at the Rose Bowl Saturday for the 11th Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks family fun walk and those driving in the area should expect traffic delays and detours, the Pasadena Police Department announced Friday.

A full Bowl closure will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Organizers met briefly with police hours after the Boston tragedy to reevaluate safety plans for the event and beefed up security measures with a few ‘minor tweaks,’” Pasadena police Lt. Randall Taylor, who heads the department’s event planning section and counter-terrorism unit, told the Pasadena Sun.
