Heat, More Fire Danger on the Way

Increased fire danger continues in the area this week as the weather warms up and combines with low humidity and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.

Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Department officials warned of increased fire risk in the area last week due to dry weather and the presence of tall dry grass, Patch previously reported.

“Critical fire weather conditions” could come to the valleys and mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties—including the San Gabriel Valley--Wednesday through Friday, the NWS warned.

Temperatures will peak Thursday and Friday with highs in the 90s.

Pasadena’s forecast for the week, according to the NWS, is the following:

· Monday:  Areas of dense fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then clearing, with a high near 83. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

·  Monday Night  Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 57. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

·  Tuesday  Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 76. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

·  Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 57. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable

·  Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 82. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the morning.

·  Wednesday Night  Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

·  Thursday  Sunny, with a high near 95.

·  Thursday Night  Clear, with a low around 60

·  Friday  Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.

·  Friday Night  Sunny, with a high near 91.

·  Saturday Night  Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60.

·  Sunday  Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77
