A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly beating up a 16-year-old boy at a Petaluma skate park, police said.

Zachary Tylor Fortune, of Petaluma, was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. on suspicion of felony assault on a child.

According to Petaluma police, Fortune was at the skate park at 920 E. Washington St. when he went up to the victim and punched him in the face.

He allegedly head-butted the victim and threw him to the ground then left the park, police said.

About an hour later, police said, Fortune returned to the skate park and confronted the victim again, then punched the victim in the face, striking him several times. He then left again, police said.

The victim was treated at Petaluma Valley Hospital for a cut to his lip and an abrasion to his left eye, police said.

Police later contacted Fortune at the skate park, where he allegedly admitted to assaulting the juvenile victim, according to police.

He was taken into custody and booked into Sonoma County Jail, police said.
