Point Fire Erupts Near Highway 37 In Sonoma County

The wildfire broke out near Sears Point, charring 50 acres, according to Cal Fire.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA ? A vegetation fire burned 50 acres Wednesday near state Highway 37 and Arnold Drive in Sonoma County, Cal Fire said.

The Point Fire was first reported at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday and was contained as of 6:56 p.m., Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said on Twitter.

There were no evacuations ordered and no reports of structure damage.

"Crews will be in the area putting out hotspots for the next couple of hours," Cal Fire said. "Use caution when traveling in the area."
