According to the New York Times, the dog is blind in both eyes, and at 17 years old, moving on in age.
The fair’s marketing director, Karen Spencer, told the Times some people carried signs Friday night that said "Sweepee for President."
Here's how Sweepee's entry was described online:
My name is Sweepee and my dad Jason Rambo is constantly telling me and everyone he knows I'm the prettiest little blue eyed Chinese Crescent Chihuehue he's ever known. He loves my baby soft freckled skin and legendary blond Mohawk but most of all he loves my loyalty to him. I've traveled to work with him at the break of dawn for 15 years straight. I enjoyed riding with him on his Honda CBR 929 RR until he totaled it luckily leaving me home on this rare occasion. I escaped danger alongside with him swimming the riverbanks and surviving, not bad for a 4 pound female. I escaped dog pounds to be with my master; I am a ride or die chick. Now that I'm slowing down from old age and am blind in both eyes and wear doggie depends. I am so lucky to have a dad to take good care of me.
Among the competitors, Himisaboo carried a golden hair mane that some thought bore resemblance to a certain Republican with a last name that starts with a "T."

Zoomer seemed to be comfortable with his hair.
