SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Get out your red, white and blue; It's that patriotic time of year when America's Independence is celebrated! Here is a guide to fireworks shows, parades, celebrations and other Fourth of July events happening around Sonoma County. Leading up to July 4th, which falls on a Tuesday this year, you'll find that plenty of events are taking place the weekend prior -- and they all end with a bang on Independence Day.
Fourth of July Fireworks Festival at Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, Petaluma: 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 4. Live music, food and beer vendors, bounce houses, and entertainment before the grand Fireworks Display. Free admission; free parking
Annual July 4th Bellringing Ceremony, Petaluma Historical Library & Museum: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, Petaluma. Gather on the museum's front steps for a Helen Putnam tradition -- the ringing the Korbel Bell. Afterward, enjoy cookies and lemonade.

Red, White & BOOM! 2017, Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa: 3:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 4: Food, live music, kid’s activities, and fun for the whole family -- capped off by a spectacular fireworks show. Admission fees apply.
4th of July Fireworks Spectacular with Kathy Mattea and the Santa Rosa Symphony, Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4. Fireworks light up the sky as Grammy winner Kathy Mattea, along with the Santa Rosa Symphony, take the stage. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for a lawn festival with carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, food, music and more. Buy tickets.

Windsor Kaboom Independence Day: 4 p.m. Monday, July 3. Celebrate at Keiser Park in Windsor with live music from Cover Me Badd and McKenna Faith; food, beer, wine, laser light shows, bounce houses and more family fun. Fireworks start at dusk. Buy tickets.
Healdsburg Fireworks and other 4th of July Events: Tuesday, July 4: Sunrise Rotary Duck Dash and Kiddy Bike Parade, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Healdsburg Plaza; Pancake Breakfast presented by Boy Scouts Troop 21, 7 a.m. - noon, Villa Chanticleer Annex, 1248 N. Fitch Mountain Road; Fee fireworks show sponsored by American Legion, 9:30, Healdsburg High School athletic field. Donations accepted.
July 3rd Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza and Music Festival, Analy High School, Sebastopol: 5:30 p.m., Monday, July 3: This annual community tradition features live music, dancing, free games and relays, food, raffles and a fireworks show. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and live music begins at 6 p.m. The fireworks show will blast off at approximately 9:40 p.m. Admission fees apply.
Fireworks over Bodega Bay: 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2. If you can see the protected waters of the Bodega Bay harbor, you should be able to see this free fireworks show. Handicap parking is available at Westside Park, 2400 Westshore Road in Bodega Bay. Donations accepted for this year's show and next.
Guerneville Fireworks and Independence Day Celebration, Main Street, Guerneville: 9:30 p.m., Saturday, July 1. Come out early to explore downtown Guerneville, a waterfront town on the Russian River. Prior to the fireworks show, bring your lawn chairs to the Larks Pharmacy parking lot (16251 Main St.), where there will be barbecue offered for sale as the crowd awaits the fireworks show, set to begin at 9:30 p.m.
Monte Rio Fireworks Event Weekend, Monte Rio Beach: Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2. Enjoy part or all of two days full of patriotic fun. The Monte Rio Fire Department BBQ will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday; the Big Rocky Games are from noon to 4 p.m. both days; and the floating parade, water curtain and fireworks show will take place from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
Sonoma's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, Sonoma Historic Plaza, Sonoma: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, July 4. Hosted by the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters, this community tradition kicks off with an Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. After the parade, enjoy an old-fashioned festival with food, drink and game booths benefiting Sonoma nonprofit organizations. The 4th of July festival concludes around 5 p.m. when all eyes shift to the skies at dusk above General Vallejo’s field for a fireworks show that lasts approximately 45 minutes. This theme of this year's event is "Honoring Our Local Heroes." Donations accepted.
4th of July Parade, Celebration, Kenwood: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 4. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with a route that encircles Kenwood Plaza Park on Warm Springs Road. An after-party begins at 11:30 a.m., with a family style barbecue and games. But first, start the day with a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast provided by Kenwood Community Church, and/or a 7:30 a.m. Kenwood 3k and 10k Footrace.
4th of July Fireworks, Cloverdale: 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 4. This annual fireworks show put on by the Lions Club starts around 9 p.m. on the Cloverdale High School athletic field, 97 School Street.
