A small fire burned a cottage near Petaluma Tuesday night, a Sonoma County fire dispatcher said.
The blaze was reported around 9:25 p.m. at a cottage in the 4200 block of Browns Lane, near the Lakeville Highway, according to the dispatcher.
Crews arrived and were able to contain the flames. Nearby structures in the rural area were not threatened, the dispatcher said.
