Fire Crews To Conduct Controlled Burn Off Snell Valley Road
Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit and the Napa County Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn Tuesday.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit and the Napa County Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn Tuesday off Snell Valley Road and Spanish Valley Trail in Napa County.
Fire crews plan to burn approximately 60 acres of grass as part of a vegetation management project, Cal Fire LNU officials said.
The burn, which will comply with the requirements of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, is expected to start at 7 a.m. Tuesday and be completed by 1 p.m. that day.
Prescribed vegetation management burns must meet strict criteria for ecological benefit, weather parameters, smoke management and fire safety, so the planned burn might be subject to last-minute changes, officials said.
