Here's How Much Rain Fell In Petaluma, Sonoma County

Nearly 4 inches of rain were measured by one Sonoma County rain gauge, while most others measured between 1.25 and 1.5 inches.

PETALUMA, CA — As a winter storm described as an atmospheric river moved Tuesday through the North Bay, it dropped more than 1 inch of rain in most parts of Petaluma, while nearly 4 inches of precipitation was recorded by at least one rain gauge in Sonoma County, according to 24-hour rainfall totals published Wednesday morning by the National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area.

A rain gauge at Venado — west of Healdsburg— measured the most precipitation, with 3.99 inches recorded between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Hawkeye and Santa Rosa received around 1.50 inches of rain, while most Petaluma-area gauges showed around 1.25 inches.

In a bit of good news for Petalumans, the North Bay was no longer under a flash flood watch Wednesday morning as the storm described as an atmospheric river headed south.
