Over 800 runners in the Petaluma Footrace found perfect conditions Sunday while venturing through the Alman Marsh and Shollenberger Park.

PETALUMA -Over 800 runners in the Petaluma Footrace were treated to near perfect weather conditions Sunday while venturing through the Alman Marsh and Shollenberger Park.

The Petaluma Footrace family-friendly event held at the Petaluma Marina had participants 3 years old and up complete in the 3 or 5 mile run/walk events.

Kyle Dunn was the men's overall winner in the 5-mile event with a time of 27:37, while Hazel Richardson clocked in at 31:40 to win the female division.

In the 3-mile event, Lucas Chung crossed the finish line at 16:16 to capture the overall title, and Candy Owens finished strong with a 19:39 time.

As runners completed their journey and were coming down the finish stretch, the event announcer managed to bring each runner home by announcing their full name, what city each was from, and giving words of encouragement, which brought big smiles and bigger hearts to participants in the 12th annual event.
