Lakeville Highway Reopens After Major Injury Crash

The collision that involved a vehicle fire blocked state Highway 116 in both directions.

PETALUMA, CA — Lakeville Highway reopened around 10 a.m. Thursday after a crash near Browns Lane that resulted in major injuries, Petaluma police said.

A vehicle fire was also reported in the collision that closed State Highway 116 in both directions between South McDowell Boulevard and Browns Lane.

A Sig-alert was issued at 8:17 a.m., and Petaluma police advised drivers to avoid the area.

"The traffic collision has caused traffic backups on Lakeville Hwy," police said.

Just after 10 a.m., Petaluma police sent another alert to announce the roadway was clear.
