Fatal Traffic Collision Closes Lakeville Highway Near Petaluma
California Highway Patrol officials closed Lakeville Highway Wednesday afternoon after a major traffic collision.

The California Highway Patrol says a person has died after a crash involving a big-rig on Lakeville Highway south of Petaluma around noon.
According to Bay City News, the big-rig caught fire on the shoulder of the road when it struck a tree on Lakeville Highway south of Old Lakeville Road No. 2 around 11:45 a.m.

PETALUMA - California Highway Patrol officials have closed Lakeville Highway this afternoon due to a major traffic collision.
According to the CHP/Napa Division, Lakeville Highway is closed between state Highway 116/Stage Gulch Rd. and state Highway 37.
First reports from the CHP indicate the accident is near the 6300 block of Lakeville Hwy, south of Old Lakeville Rd #2, and south of the City of Petaluma.
A tweet from the CHP indicated the accident happened shortly after noon.
Officials are not estimating at this time when the roadway will re-open.
The CHP asks you to avoid this area, and use Highway 101 to state Highway 37 or vice-versa as your primary alternate route.
