SANTA ROSA, CA — A semi truck full of milk caught fire Tuesday afternoon, stalling traffic on U.S. Highway 101 in Sonoma County.
The fire was reported at 3:45 p.m. on the right shoulder of southbound U.S. 101 at the College Avenue offramp in Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tanker full of milk was fully engulfed in flames, prompting Santa Rosa police to block the offramp, CHP dispatchers reported.

Three Santa Rosa Fire Department engines and one ladder truck responded to the blaze.
Original reports indicated the fire may have involved a gasoline tanker which prompted a larger response, SRFD said.

One lane of the offramp was reopened to traffic around 5 p.m., CHP said.
