Petaluma Tip-A-Cop Raises $1.7K For Special Olympics

Local officers and the chief of police served as "celebrity waiters" at the Applebee's event.

PETALUMA, CA – A recent Tip-A-Cop fundraiser, featuring the Petaluma Police Department at the local Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, raised $1,723 for Special Olympics Northern California, according to operators.

Petaluma officers served as "celebrity waiters" Oct. 11 at the restaurant on Old Redwood Highway with 100 percent of their tips donated directly to Special Olympics, an organization which provides year-round sports opportunities for children and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Apple American Group, which owns and operates the Petaluma Applebee’s, often hosts such events in an effort to support institutions that enhance the quality of life in the local community, management said.
