At least $15 million has been raised as a result of the concert featuring Metallica, G-Eazy, Rancid and more. Miss the show? Watch it here.
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — Thursday's Band Together Bay Area benefit concert at AT&T Park was officially a sellout and deemed a major success. "Together we have generated more than $15 million (and counting) toward the relief efforts," organizers said in an email Friday. The event was held one month after the historically devastating firestorm first hit Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and neighboring Northern California counties, and was dedicated not only to those who lost homes, businesses and loved ones, but also to the many first responders who worked to spare the region from further destruction and casualties.
In addition to musical performances by Metallica, Rancid, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, G-Eazy, Dead & Company and Raphael Saadiq, the evening included interfaith blessings; appearances by San Francisco Giants legends Barry Bonds and Buster Posey and 49ers great Joe Montana; and video messages of support from celebrities including Chris Rock, Sylvester Stallone, Ashton Kutcher, Green Day, Ben Stiller, Bonnie Raitt, Snoop Dogg, the cast of "Silicon Valley" and many more.
Most if not all the musical performers have ties to the Bay Area — and all expressed solidarity. Rancid was formed in Berkeley, while G-Eazy is from Oakland. Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, a Bay Area native, told the crowd he was a victim of the fires and thanked the first responders.

Organizers say proceeds of the event are going to Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund, which will distribute the funds to fire victims of limited financial means.
