The Petaluma community was overwhelmingly supportive of the collection effort for needy families!

PETALUMA, CA – The annual Salvation Army Chief's Red Kettle Challenge, a good-natured face-off held Friday on Kentucky Street between Petaluma Fire Department Chief Leonard Thompson and Petaluma Police Department Interim Police Chief Ken Savano raised a combined, whopping $4,500!
"The Petaluma community came out in force and supported the cause to help Petaluma families in need by donating over $4,500 between the two red kettles," officials said. "While the police department’s red kettle came out ahead with $2,776, the combined effort will provide many Petaluma families with much needed help this holiday season."
The agencies thanked the generous community, along with Petaluma Sunrise Rotary, Petaluma Firefighter’s Local Union #1415, Peace Officer’s Association of Petaluma and the Petaluma Public Safety Mid-Managers Association for their support.
