Sonoma Co. Orders Cancellation Of Large Gatherings: Coronavirus

Sonoma County on Friday joined other counties in ordering the cancellation of gatherings of 250 or more people due to the novel coronavirus.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County on Friday joined other counties in ordering the cancellation of mass gatherings of 250 or more people to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

The order by Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase also limits gatherings of people who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 to no more than 10 except for family gatherings. This includes gatherings at retirement and assisted living facilities, developmental homes and support groups for people with health conditions.

Smaller gatherings held in venues such as crowded auditoriums that do not allow social distancing of 6 feet per person should be postponed or canceled, the county said.
