Sonoma Co. Students Selected For 2017 All American High School Film Festival

Students from Petaluma and Santa Rosa will have their films shown in New York City.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Five Sonoma County students are among nearly 200 young California filmmakers selected to have their work featured in screenings at this year's All-American High School Film Festival, taking place Oct. 6-9 in New York City.

The AAHSFF is described as the "premier destination for talented high school filmmakers and media arts enthusiasts from around the world," with its mission being to provide "immersive education with a profound impact, connecting the filmmakers of the future with the rewards, respect and recognition they deserve."

The screenings take place Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8 at AMC Times Square.

Shown from Sonoma County will be:

— "Indelible," a drama by Ethan Paisley, Petaluma;

— "For What I Stand" and "We Love You No Matter What," a Jostens project, Andy Huey, Santa Rosa;

— "Evoke," a documentary, and "Looking In (Short Film)," an experimental, by Vitina Benson, Santa Rosa; and

— "Complete Me," a drama by Jimmy Dallara and Gabriel Capito, Santa Rosa.

As part of the event, the young filmmakers also get to attend workshops and panels; check out the latest gear at the tech showcase; and walk the IMAX "Blue Carpet" at The Teen Indie Awards.
