Washing Your Dog in Petaluma Will Help Police K-9s: Here's How

The annual fundraiser will help provide training and safety equipment like police car heat alarms and K-9 trauma kits.

Dog owners in the Bay Area are invited wash their dogs to help raise money for local police dogs. On July 16 and 17, simply use the self-service pet wash for $15 at any Pet Food Express store and you'll be contributing to the cause.

All of the money goes to Cover Your K9, which is a nonprofit organization that provides important training and safety equipment like bullet-proof vests, police car heat alarms and K-9 trauma kits. The goal is to raise more than $150,000 in two days.

All 59 locally-owned Pet Food Express stores are participating in the popular fundraiser.

“This fundraiser helps provide critical emergency training and supplies to K-9 departments throughout California,” said Michael Levy, founder of Pet Food Express. “As a local company, it’s in our DNA to give back to our community in a meaningful way.”
