DUI, Battery, Missing Teens, and Thefts on the Police Log

March 31

9:32 AM: SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Officers responded to the 100 block of Trellis Bay for a possibly abandoned grow house. The property owner asked officers to investigate after he found floorboards had been removed and what he believed to be dried marijuana leaves near the cutouts. Officers did not find evidence that the home had been used for illegal purposes.

12:23 PM: FOUND PROPERTY Officers recovered a bicycle in the area of Canterbury Coventry and placed it in the found property at the department.

12:35 PM: DOMESTIC BATTERY Officers responded to the 1300 block of Forest Run after the reporting person said the father of her daughter assaulted her.

2:35 PM: DOMESTIC BATTERY Female was punched in the leg and nearly punched in the face by her boyfriend near the 800 block of Willow. The suspect was not at the scene.

3:05 PM: MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION Officers responded to report of an out of control adult on the 200 block of Starling. The parent said her son was smashing furniture inside of the house. The man was transported to County Regional Medical Center for mental health evaluations.

April 1

1:01 AM: DUI Jesus Mejia, 41, of Hercules, was pulled over and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after officers administered a field sobriety test.

9:26 AM: BURGLARY Officers responded to an alarm heard sounding in the 100 block of Violet. Officers found the front door opened by forced entry, and no one in the house. The inside appeared to be undisturbed. A neighbor told offices that he heard the alarm about 45 minutes prior, but did not call police. The homeowners could not be reached.

3:33 PM: AUTO BURGLARY Officers responded to Rite Aide for items stolen from a delivery truck. The reporting person told police the theft had occurred in the 800 block of Willow near the convenience store next to the 76 Station. The victim told police that he delivered boxes to the store, but did not lock his truck while unloading. When he went for his next delivery he noticed that 2 boxes containing cigarettes were missing.

7:20 PM: ARREST Officer responded to the 1200 block of Willow Avenue for an unwanted person. Shane Jackson, 29, was arrested for allegedly violating probation and possession of narcotics.

9 PM: LOCATED MISSING TEEN A 12-year-old runaway from Richmond was located in the 2100 block of Redwood Road. The mother was contacted but reportedly refused to pick the juvenile up, CPS was contacted and took custody.

April 2

11:06 PM: FOUND PROPERTY Officers picked up a purse found at Bank of America.

12:57 PM: PETTY THEFT Officers responded to Rite Aid for report of a male and female, both African American adults, who stole merchandise. The duo fled westbound on Sycamore Avenue in a red Acura Legend 3.0. They were not located.

5:57 PM: BATTERY Michael Harp, 64, was arrested in the 1500 block of Chelsea for allegedly shoving his girlfriend during an argument causing injuries.

6:43 PM HIT AND RUN Officers responded to the 100 block of Salt Spray Terrace when a woman driving a 1998 Infiniti QX4 was allegedly struck by an African American male driving a silver Honda. The suspect reportedly hit her front left bumper, fled the scene, and was not located.

8:07 PM: MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION Officers responded to the 200 block of Violet Road for a welfare check on a 70-year-old woman who family and friends were not able to get ahold of. Officers forced entry into the home and located the female upstairs. She was transported for mental health care evaluation.

10:34 PM: OUTSIDE ASSIST Officers responded with Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies to the area of Allview Way and Appian Way to locate a suspect wanted for auto theft, resisting and evading arrest.

April 3

8:12 AM: OUTSIDE ASSIST Officers were conducting a traffic stop when they were flagged down on Willow Avenue at Sycamore Avenue by two adult males who reported that they had been victims of an attempted carjacking. The crime occurred in Contra Costa County Sheriff’s jurisdiction and was turned over to deputies.

11:37 AM: SECURITY CHECK Homeless people sleeping in a tent near a grove of trees on the southwest portion of the Point on city property. 64-year-old woman was asked to leave.

5:57 PM: AUTO BURGLARY A vehicle was vandalized in the 100 block of Carson Street. Suspect shattered the right front passenger window of a gray 2015 Honda Accord and stole two pair of expensive prescription glasses.

6:23 PM: MISSING TEEN A 17-year-old left on a date the evening before and did not return home. The girl was added to the missing persons system.

8:22 PM: PETTY THEFT 2017 registration sticker was stolen from a 2004 Mercedes C240 between March and April.

9:55 PM: Juan Murillo, 31, was arrested in the 100 block of Brighton Street for an allegedly outstanding felony warrant.

April 4

2:19 PM: Tanguagatao Brown, 30, of Hercules turned himself in at the Hercules Police station for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

6:04 PM: A 17-year-old returned home in the 2200 block of Lupine Road after she had been reported missing since April 2. Officers responded to her residence and removed her from the missing persons system.
