El Sobrante Man Identified As Murder Victim
He was shot at a convenience store in Richmond last week.

RICHMOND, CA — The Contra Costa County coroner's office has identified a man who was shot and killed in Richmond on Thursday night.
Joseph Alexander II, 21, was from El Sobrante.
Officers responded to the parking lot of the Stop & Shop convenience store at 800 Carlson Blvd. on a ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alert, Richmond police said.

Officers found Alexander suffering from gunshot wounds. Police initially said he was from Pittsburg, but the coroner's office clarified that he was from El Sobrante.
A second man, an Oakland resident, was also struck by the gunfire. Police said he was taken to a hospital and later released.

The suspect in the shooting walked down Carlson Boulevard, stopped near the convenience store and started shooting at the two men, according to police.
Police said the suspect ran north on Carlson Boulevard immediately after the shooting.
Police are not yet releasing any information about the suspect or the possible motive for the murder, according to police Lt. Felix Tan.
