Grand Opening Monday: Pinole Valley High School

PINOLE, CA — The West Contra Costa Unified School District will host the grand opening of the new Pinole Valley High School campus on Monday morning, according to school district officials.

The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. and will feature the opening of a new 267,000-square foot campus, which will replace a campus that first opened in 1967, district officials said.

Yee's Martial Arts Academy will perform a traditional lion dance and the school's drumline will also perform.

District Board President Tom Panas, District Superintendent Matthew Duffy and Pinole Mayor Peter Murray are also scheduled to attend.

The campus is located at 2900 Pinole Valley Road and is expected to serve families in Pinole and Hercules, school district officials said. — Bay City News
