Grass Fire Erupts In Hercules

HERCULES, CA -- A grass fire erupted in Hercules on Sunday, prompting authorities to urge the public to avoid the area. Police said the fire was in the area of Falcon and Finch Court.

Ground and air units were both called to battle the scene, police said in a Facebook post around 1:15 p.m.

Police said low-flying planes would be in the area until the blaze is contained.

No other information was immediately available.
