Man Arrested In Pinole Suspected Of Shooting Into Empty Car

A man accused of shooting into an empty vehicle early Thursday is facing several weapons charges, police said.

PINOLE, CA — A man accused of shooting into an empty car early Thursday morning is facing several weapons charges, according to Pinole police officials.

Ralph Herrera, 31, of Pinole is accused of firing several shots into the same car parked in the 800 block of Patrick Drive at about 2:45 a.m. during at least two separate incidents, police said.
No one was hurt during the shootings and no damage was discovered to nearby homes or other vehicles, according to police.

Police found Herrera at his home at about 10 a.m. where they also allegedly found a rifle and ammunition.

He was arrested on suspicion of several weapons offenses, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and shooting in to a vehicle, police said.

Police didn't release a possible motive for the shooting. His bail was set at $250,000.
