Motorcyclist Killed in I-80 Crash Identified
CHP officials say the Vallejo resident tried to walk to safety near the center divider when he was struck by a white SUV

A motorcyclist who died in a crash on Interstate Highway 80 near Hercules on Monday morning has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 45-year-old Vallejo resident Paris Williams. Williams was identified as the motorcyclist who died following a collision reported around 7:15 a.m. on westbound Highway 80 just east of Willow Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officials said Williams lost control of his motorcycle and struck the back of a gray BMW X3.
There is a possibility Williams had initially lost control of his bike after being clipped by another vehicle, CHP spokesman Officer John Fransen said. Williams got up and tried to walk to safety near the center divider, but was then hit by a white SUV, which did not stop at the scene, according to Fransen. The driver of the BMW stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities are still seeking the driver of the white SUV, described as possibly a Lexus RX, according to Fransen. He said the CHP is still investigating the incident and asking for more witnesses to come forward. There is no description of the driver of the white SUV as of yet, Fransen said.

Potential witnesses or those who might have information on the white SUV driver are asked to call the Contra Costa-area CHP office at (925) 646-4980. Fransen also wants to remind drivers that hit-and-run collisions are a serious crime.
“You are required by law to stay if there is bodily injury,” he said.
