Need More Express Buses? Take the Online Survey

Would you like to see more express buses during peak hours? A drop-off point that doesn't currently exist or pickup closer to home?

PINOLE AND HERCULES, CA — People are being asked to provide input via an online survey and two upcoming meetings on a study into expanded express bus service in west Contra Costa County.

The West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee is studying the express bus service to connect commuters in Hercules, Pinole, San Pablo, Richmond and other areas in the western part of the county.

The express service would make fewer stops than local bus services and take commuters to employment centers in Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland and San Francisco.

"Commuters along Interstate 80 know first-hand that traffic is awful," WCCTAC executive director John Nemeth said in a statement.

"In order for this project to be successful, we need to hear where potential riders would like to catch the bus, where they would like to be dropped off, and what kinds of things would encourage them to use this new service," Nemeth said.
