The deceased was identified as a Rodeo man.

BAY AREA, CA — California Highway Patrol was continuing its investigation of a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle Sunday afternoon on Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo. A 65-year-old Rodeo man was fatally struck by a car at 3:08 p.m. when he walked into eastbound lanes of traffic, west of Benicia Road, for unknown reasons, CHP Officer Dave Harvey said in a news release.

After he was struck, the pedestrian remained in the lanes of traffic while the involved driver, a 23-year-old Sacramento man, pulled his car to the shoulder and waited for officers to arrive at the scene.

The Solano County coroner's office identified the deceased Rodeo man as Charles Edwards.
