Pedestrian Killed In El Sobrante ID'd
The crash, which claimed the life of 36-year-old David Gonzales, happened in the darkness on San Pablo Dam Road east of Clark Road.
EL SOBRANTE, CA — A pedestrian struck and killed Thursday evening in El Sobrante has been identified by the county coroner's office as 36-year-old transient David Gonzales.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at about 6:10 p.m. Thursday to a report of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian on San Pablo Dam Road east of Clark Road.
Gonzales was found unresponsive and was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the CHP.

The driver, a 65-year-old man from El Sobrante, was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators. He was traveling east on the road when he hit Gonzales, who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk, CHP officials said.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision. — Bay City News
