Pinole Police Update & Presentation

FYI: Pinole Police Department

During the 2018 election statements were made to the effect that the Pinole PD was fully staffed. That, in spite of the sentiment in the community that we were experiencing an uptick in crime and slower response times.

At the September 17, 2019 City Council Meeting (Agenda Item B2) Pinole Police Chief Neil Gang presented an update on the Police Department. He presented statistics over a 12 month period, August 2018 - August 2019.

I wish to share the video presentation made that night by Chief Neil Gang.

Chief Gang's presentation notes a 12% overall increase in Part 1 Crimes over a 12 month period.

Part 1 crime increases include:

Violent Crime

Property Crime

Rape

Assault

Larceny

Stolen Vehicle

Part 1 Crime decreases or no change include:

Murder

Robbery

Burglary

Arson

This presentation is timely and important.

Public Safety is a very high priority in our community.
