Pinole Update

A Summary of the July 21 Council Meeting

Pinole for Fair Government was founded on the concept of sharing information to increase communication between Pinole citizens and the Pinole City government.

In our effort to keep you informed and because Pinole citizens’ are unable interact with their elected officials in person, we will attempt on occasion, to provide you with summaries and updates.

Summary

In spite of the fact that citizens are unable to attend Council Meetings in person, citizens can still participate in the meetings by watching it live on Channel 26 or view it live on the city’s website, www.ci.pinole.ca.us

There were many comments read under citizens to be heard.

The greatest number of comments were related to the proposed Faria House Renovation and the creation of the Pinole History Museum.

*All matters under the consent calendar are considered routine and non-controversial. However, any interested party or council member can comment on any item before action is taken.

D. Liens for delinquent waste collection charges

E. Master Fee Schedule

F. Quarterly Investment Report

This item was pulled for discussion and to hear several public comments

H. Approve Salary for Unrepresented and Represented Employees

8. Public Hearings:

Amendment to section 17.70 Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance.

Passed, but with much discussion.

Old Business:

A. Update on Staff activities to prepare for a potential 2020 ballot measure for a parcel tax for fire services.

The Council decided there was not enough time for staff to do outreach or to properly educate and inform the community for the November ballot.

B. Adopt Resolution for the use of the Fowler House property.

The council moved forward with the Fowler House committee’s recommendation to use this property as a parking lot.

C. Approve the Memorial Policy. Approved

D. Approve Amendment to the operating agreement for Aquatic Program and facility use with the Pinole Seals. Approved

10. New Business:

A. resolution to collaborate with community partners to repave, repaint and name the Fernandez Park basketball court after David Patrick Underwood. Approved.
