Record Breaking Highs, Followed By Rain Expected in Pinole

BAY AREA, CA- Temperatures around the Bay Area will pick up drastically during the middle of the week, possibly breaking previous records, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures in the area are expected to warm up on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Wednesday being the warmest, weather service officials said. Daytime temperatures in the area on Wednesday could potentially reach between 90 and 100 degrees.

Wednesday's temperatures are forecasted to be between 15 and 25 degrees above seasonal averages. The warm weather is due to building high pressure over the region and a developing offshore flow, according to weather service officials.

After Wednesday, a cooling trend will then make its way to the Bay Area as an upper-level system approaches the region, bringing with it the possibility of rain later this week and into the coming weekend.

During the warm weather, weather service officials recommend people drink plenty of water and try to reduce, eliminate or reschedule outdoor activity until the coolest time of the day.

Additionally, residents are advised to wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and to never leave pets, children, elderly or disabled adults inside parked vehicles, weather service officials said.
