HERCULES, CA- Officers nabbed a pair of suspected mail thieves on Monday morning in Hercules, according to police.

The reporting party described the suspect and her vehicle, which was found shortly after noon when a school resource officer at Hercules High School notified police that a suspicious vehicle was in the parking lot reserved for teachers. Responding officers arrived and contacted the vehicle's driver, identified as 35-year-old Martinez resident Christine Racine.

Police said she matched the suspect description. Officers determined Racine had a felony warrant for her arrest out of Napa County. When officers searched her vehicle, stolen mail with Hercules addresses was found, police said. The vehicle also contained stolen checks, stolen credit cards, stolen DMV documents and a printer used for fraudulent identification documents, police said.

Racine was arrested on suspicion of mail theft and possessing stolen property. Nicholas Vargas, 19, of Bay Point, was also in the vehicle and was arrested as well, police said. Both suspects were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
