That's What Friends Are For: Pinole-Hercules Hero

The helpers are the people who make life better. Nominate your Local Heroes to give them the recognition they deserve, presented by Ring.

PINOLE-HERCULES, CA— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Lior Jacober, who nominated her friend, Libby Raskin.

Reason for recognition: Libby lives about 1/2 mile from me. Whenever I get "wacky" from teaching on Zoom for hours, or due to worries about COVID (I am immune-compromised) she agrees to go for a distance-walk in our local Kennedy Grove.

One thing to know: She said recently, "Call me any time you need...what are friends for?"

Thank you for all you do, Libby!
