WestCAT Launches 17th Annual Stuff A Bus Donation Drive
WestCAT will be accepting donations of new unwrapped toys, and non-perishable food at 3 drop of sites.
WestCAT, the California Highway Patrol, and MV Transportation are joining together again this year for our 17th Annual Stuff-A-Bus holiday donation drive events to be held in the Cities of Pinole and Hercules. “It’s been a very successful and rewarding 17 years, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to join forces again with members of the CHP and MV Transit on our favorite community event” said Yvonne Morrow, WestCAT Marketing Manager. This year a very special (surprise) guest will make their debut at Santa’s workshop, and families are invited to have their photos taken with this V.I.P. Last year’s drive yielded an exciting 1,024 pounds of non-perishable food donations, and lots and lots of toys (cash donations are also accepted, and are used to purchase both toys and food).
Representatives from the California Highway Patrol join in on the fun, gathering up all of the toys that have been collected during both events and distributing them at various events throughout the Bay Area. The toys support the California Highway Patrol’s “CHiPs 4 Kids Toy Drive” that allows law enforcement to bring happiness and joy to children during the holiday season. The non-perishable food donations benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. Toys must be new and unwrapped. Food must be non-perishable; a list of acceptable items is available at www.foodbankccs.org. Cash donations are also accepted.
Donations will be accepted on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 9:00am-4:00pm in the Lucky Supermarket parking lot located at 1590 Sycamore Ave, Hercules, and on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Safeway grocery store parking lot located at 1421 Tara Hills Dr., Pinole. Come help us to Stuff-A-Bus! Stop by with your donations and your cameras, and say “Hi” to Santa’s favorite helpers at the big decorated WestCAT bus.
