5 Things: Campouts, Parades and Facebook

1. The Poway Chamber of Commerce's July Mixer is tonight from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Belmont Senior Village Living in Sabre Springs. Check out Poway.com for details.

2. Last minute weekend idea: A campout at Lake Poway. Gather up the family for a Saturday-night sleepover. Register online or call 858-668-4770. Cost is $52 for Poway residents & $62 for non-residents (per family of 5).

3. Poway Days Parade is still looking for sponsorships. The Sept. 7 annual parade is looking for generous donors to help continue the tradition. Those wishing to give can visit www.powayparade.org.

5. Speaking of Facebook... someone mentioned on our page (in response to our story on fix-it tickets) that the local Sheriff's Department has been charging a fee for signing tickets "for years."
