Business Burglaries Last Week Possibly Related

Four Poway businesses were broken into after closing on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating four burglaries of Poway businesses last week that are possibly related.

All four were broken into after they closed on Thursday, Sept. 19, and before opening the next day, said Detective Todd Richards.

Three of the four businesses had their back doors pried open, and one had no sign of forced entry, Richards said.

“The similarity is we have most of them going for the cash register,” Richards said.

• Original Pancake House, 14905 Pomerado Rd. Cash register and $300 in cash reported stolen between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m.

• Rose’s Nails, 14873 Pomerado Rd. Tools valued at $500 reported stolen between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m.

• El Ranchito Taco Shop, 14057 Stowe Dr. $300 in cash reported stolen between 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m.

• Hong Kong Xpress, 14077 Stowe Dr. No loss reported, broken into between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The burglaries were reported when the businesses opened on Sept. 20, and no eyewitnesses have stepped forward, although detectives are waiting for surveillance video that might show the suspects, Richards said.
