With a focus on local and eco-friendly partners, these businesses will provide services, entertainment, education, and products that enhance The Farm’s focus on agriculture, recreation, and conservation.

“These businesses will help to make The Farm in Poway the vibrant, family-friendly community that we envisioned,” said Kevin McNamara, Poway resident and managing partner of the development team. “We’re happy to be able to offer some fun and unique services and experiences for Powegians.”

Butterfly Farm and Education Center

Imagine visiting a beautiful garden and having a beautiful Monarch butterfly land on your shoulder! One of the signature features of The Farm in Poway will be the Butterfly Farm and Education Center. This unique ¬¬¬destination will be operated by Butterfly Farms, a non-profit educational institution whose mission is to conserve native butterflies and their habitats through education and conservation. The Butterfly Farm and Education Center in The Farm in Poway will be their second location – they have successfully operated a facility in Encinitas since 2012. The Center will include a butterfly vivarium; classes, tours, and educational events teaching about important pollinators and their habitat; and a nursery selling butterfly-friendly plants.

Local Favorites to Operate The Social

Villa Capri Trattoria Poway and AleSmith Brewing Co. are in negotiations with The Farm to operate the beer garden and restaurant at The Social. Villa Capri is a Poway favorite and considered one of the best restaurants in town. AleSmith is owned by two Poway residents, and we are proud to help them open their first Poway location. We are excited by the quality these two great operators will bring to The Farm!

The Club

The Club will be the center of recreation, fitness, and wellness at The F arm in Poway. FWRD Barre+Fitness will relocate from their current Poway location to operate the health club. FWRD Barre+Fitness will offer indoor and outdoor fitness areas, a variety of fitness classes, and member amenities like childcare and a beverage bar. The Club will also provide a home for Bio-tique, expanding from their current Poway location. Bio-tique will offer a variety of healing and personal wellness services in a spa-like environment, making The Club a full-service health facility. And Poway favorite, Floaties Swim School, will open a second location to offer outdoor swim lessons in the pool at The Club.

Community Gardens and Agriculture

The Farm in Poway will give residents the chance to be farmers themselves! Our five community gardens will offer plots for rent so residents can grow their own fruits, vegetables and herbs within walking distance from their homes. To ensure that these gardens are well maintained, we have partnered with Farmscape, the largest urban farming company in California. Founded in 2008, Farmscape has designed, installed, and maintained hundreds of community farms across the state. The community gardens in The Farm are anticipated to produce about 20 tons of fresh produce each year!

One of the unique features of The Farm in Poway is the incorporation of working agriculture into community open space. Dos Gringos Flowers, based in north San Diego County, will operate The Farm’s working fields. Dos Gringos specializes in growing flowers and foliage used in flower bouquets and their fields will be a beautiful asset to The Farm community.
