Keep the Kids Busy in Poway with Teddy Bear Picnics and Puppets
Here are 5 things you need to know for Poway today.

Teddy Bear Picnic and Stuffed Animal Sleepover
- Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library for an afternoon picnic. Leave your animal overnight for a sleepover, pick it up the next day and see what your animal was up to. Picnic and sleepover will start at 1 p.m on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at the Poway Library.
- Take the kids to the Poway Library this morning for a puppet show, featuring the "Garbage Monster. The 10:30 a.m. show is appropriate for kids ages 3-5.
Cutting and Saving
- The Poway Chamber of Commerce is holding a ribbon cutting tonight from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for the new Grocery Outlet, which opens to the public tomorrow, Aug. 8. Food will be served at the event.
- Registration for fall activities is now available. Register online, by mail or in person at City of Poway Community Services. Activities include CPR training, volleyball, babysitter's training and more.Â
- Rotary Club of Poway meets at noon today at the Brigantine. Walden Family Services, which has served foster and adopted youth and their families for 37 years in Southern California, will have its Executive Director Teresa Stivers speak.
