Options for Enjoying County Parks on 'Green Friday'

Green Friday is a celebration of fitness and fun in San Diego County parks and preserves.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- Green Friday is an alternative to Black Friday, where instead of spending the day shopping, people spend the day enjoying the great outdoors.

Admission at all 116 California State Parks is free this Friday, and the San Diego County Parks & Recreation Department has some suggestions for those who'd rather enjoy the green of nature than spend their green in stores.

Friday, Nov. 25:
Hike at Santa Ysabel East Preserve
Get outside and enjoy the crisp Julian air among the area’s oaks and sycamores. You can bring the youngsters for the guided 3-mile hike or if you’re part of an older crowd, you can walk off that Thanksgiving feast with a 5 or 9-mile hike.
