Pro-Am Golf Classic Returns to Poway
The fundraiser aims to host nearly 150 golfers and raise $65K to benefit local men, women and children with developmental disabilities.

From the Home of Guiding Hands:
Home of Guiding Hands (HGH) will host its 34th Annual Pro-Am Golf Classic on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Maderas Golf Club at 17750 Old Coach Rd., Poway, Calif. 92064. The fundraising event aims to raise $65,000 with all proceeds directly benefiting more than 1,900 local infants, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as current HGH programs and services in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Registration is open and tickets can be purchased viawww.hghgolfclassic.org.
This year’s Home of Guiding Hands Pro-Am Golf Classic will invite nearly 150 guests to enjoy a full day of golf with family and friends with a fresh and fun experience at Maderas Golf Course, San Diego County’s number one rated golf course for seven consecutive years. From putting contests to new on course games, the event is sure to entertain all ages. Attendees will also enjoy lunch, silent auctions and craft beer tastings. Even the most novice of golfers will have the opportunity to enhance their skills as each team will be paired up with a San Diego PGA professional golfer to provide the ultimate golfing experience. The evening will conclude with a cocktail reception, dinner and an awards ceremony where the leading players of the day will be recognized.

“For more than three decades, our annual golf tournament has been one of our most admired events for those we serve,” said Mark Klaus, president and CEO, Home of Guiding Hands. “The fundraiser is a great opportunity for San Diego families and golf lovers to experience a fun active day all in support of local individuals in need. We thank our sponsors, staff, volunteers and event committee for their efforts as well as the professional golfers that will be donating their time and talent to the event.”
Home of Guiding Hands will be entering its 50 years of giving in 2017 and is well-known for inspiring people – infants, children, adolescents and adults – with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in a setting that offers a more fulfilling lifestyle, provides individualized attention, stresses increased opportunities for self-sufficiency, and inspires greater community integration and access. To reach as many San Diegans of this underserved population as possible, the organization offers several life skills training programs to the local community, which not only requires hundreds of thousands of direct care hours annually to support this population, but also critical funds needed each year.
