RB Chorale Names Winners of its 2018 Music Scholarship Awards

Violinist Erica (Yeawon) Hwang and vocalist Eduardo Pintado named first place co-winners.

The RB Chorale announced the winners of its 2018 music scholarship awards today, with violinist Erica (Yeawon) Hwang and vocalist Eduardo Pintado named first place co-winners. Pat Bean, director and founder of the RB Chorale, said their college of choice will each receive at least $4,200, with the final amount to be determined by additional donations through June 30. They were selected by audiences at two Broadway musical performances, presented by the RB Chorale at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts last week. Erica is a graduating from Torrey Pines High School, while Eduardo is graduating from Chula Vista High School. Receiving $2,500 second place scholarships each were vocalist Ellie Barret, San Marcos High School and and pianist Cameron Lincoln, East Lake High School. Third place scholarships of $1,700 were awarded to John Lettang, a vocalist from Poway High School and pianist/cellist Ryan Zhou from Torry Pines High School.

The RB Chorale is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the gift of song to this community, entertain audiences, and help aspiring young musicians pursue their dreams. It has been awarding scholarships to deserving San Diego County high school graduating students for 44 years.
