'Will Help Out Any Neighbor In Need': Poway Hero

POWAY, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Torrey Powers, who nominated Poway community leader Phil Factor.

Reason for recognition: When our city had a weeklong city water contamination that shut
down all restaurants and businesses dealing with water, Phil Factor wanted to help the
restaurant workers get $100 for the wages they lost during the closure. Raised $5,000.

One thing to know: He is a humanitarian that will help out any neighbor in need.
