The Friends of the AK Smiley Public Library are holding their 3rd annual Academy Award contest with prizes, including movie tickets and gift cards, sponsored by these wonderful businesses: The State, Martha Green's Eating Room, Breakfast Shack and Saverino's.
The contest is open to Library card holders 18 years or older. Pick up a ballot at the circulation desk and predict the winner in the 24 categories. While you're at the library check out the great DVD collection then visit the Friends Bookstore on the lower level. There are lots of Academy Award winners and nominees to be found in both DVD and book form.
The Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support book purchases, youth services, adult literacy programs and infrastructure needs for the library. Donations of books can be made at the entrance to the library. Annual memberships start at $10.
