Basic Sales, Use Tax, Tax Return Preparation Workshop Set

From the City of Redlands: The City of Redlands Development Services Department, along with State Sen. Mike Morrell, Assemblyman Marc Steinorth and the California State Board of Equalization (SBOE) will co-host a Basic Sales and Use Tax and Tax Return Preparation workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Redlands City Hall City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St., Suite 2/4.

The workshop will provide a basic understanding of sales and use tax, district tax, taxable and nontaxable labor, as well as foreign and interstate taxability. Participants will learn if they need a seller’s permit and how to use a resale certificate. Discover what exemptions and deductions are available and the formula for selling items “tax included.” Attendees will also receive step-by-step instruction on how to become an eClient so they can easily file sales and use tax returns electronically and pay online.
