Cinnamon Creek Memorial Walk Recalls Deadly 2011 Shooting
Members of the Redlands Police Department will join community members and local clergy on Monday.

From The City of Redlands: Members of the Redlands Police Department will join community members and local clergy for the Cinnamon Creek Memorial Walk at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, starting at the corner of Post Street and Sun Avenue.
The walk was begun as a vigil following the Jan. 5, 2011, shooting at the Cinnamon Creek Apartments that left two teenagers dead and two others severely injured. Quinn McCaleb, 17, was found dead at the scene. Andrew Jackson, 16, died later at the hospital. Two other boys were hospitalized and later recovered from their injuries. A fifth boy was shot at but was uninjured.
In 2014, three gang members were convicted of murder.

Gail Howard, whose son, Jordan, was injured in the shooting, has led the way in organizing the neighborhood walk each year. The walk begins at the corner where McCaleb died and continues around the neighborhood, ending at the apartments where the shooting took place. Organizers say Monday’s walk is also a way to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the federal holiday that recognizes the slain civil rights leader.
The community is invited to participate in the memorial walk.
