Kmart In Redlands To Close

The store is one of 26 Kmarts and Sears closing nationwide in late October.

REDLANDS, CA — The Kmart store on West Redlands Boulevard in Redlands is one 26 "large format" Sears and Kmarts that will be closing throughout the country in late October, company officials said.

The Kmart in Desert Hot Springs is also on the closure list.

Liquidations sales at the stores will begin around Aug. 15, according to Tranform Co., the parent company of Sears and Kmart. Management plans to focus on its expansion of smaller store formats.

"Following these steps, we will continue to evaluate our network of Sears and Kmart stores and cannot rule out additional store closures in the near term," Transform said.
